Singer Turbo Study Cabriolet: the American company's first convertible sees the light of day

Through its magnificent Turbo Study, Singer has just developed its first cabriolet model, which becomes true perfection now in the open air

Singer Turbo Study Cabriolet

Having first presented its Singer Turbo Study at the beginning of this 2022 and refined it in mid-year, the popular company specialising in restomods of classic Porsche 911s has just unveiled its latest creation, which it describes as “the first Porsche 911 Cabriolet reimagined by Singer”.

Building on the development of its Turbo Study, Singer Vehicle Design has created its first convertible, maintaining the sublime DNA of its creations but now offering the chance to enjoy a modernised Porsche 964, this time with the roof down.

Its new design elements

As was the case with its coupé version, the new Turbo Study Cabriolet uses the chassis of a 964 and is fitted with a carbon-fibre bodykit to resemble a 930 Turbo, with its characteristic and prominent hips, its cooling intakes and the marvellous whale-tail rear spoiler.

On its bodywork, this Singer Cabriolet wears an intense red called Rojo Cádiz, which together with the Fuchs wheels, the black inserts running along the entire bodywork and its black fabric roof creates an unbeatable and genuinely sporty combination.

Inside, Singer has fitted elegant leather upholstery with red and tartan piping, a wood trim running across the entire dashboard, again in red with the Singer signature, the iconic five gauges of the tachometer and an elegant steering wheel practically identical to that of the original 930.

Under the bonnet

Turning to its dynamic side, the engine fitted is a 3.8-litre flat-six with two turbos and electric wastegates, modified to improve its cooling thanks to bespoke intercoolers. With all this, the Singer Turbo Study Cabriolet is capable of producing from 450 CV in its least powerful version up to 510 CV if you choose to squeeze out every last drop of its heart.

As is typical for the tuner, it also features high-performance elements such as its carbon-ceramic braking system, a six-speed manual gearbox or a suspension and setup developed specifically for the model.
