Small tweaks for the Lexus IS300h

Lexus has unveiled a slight update to its compact hybrid saloon, the IS300h. It is a modest refresh that we wouldn’t even consider a restyle. The IS300h MY15 gets better interior materials, as well as LED fog lights across the whole range.

The IS300h is the smallest saloon in the range of the Japanese luxury manufacturer, owned by Toyota. This third generation focuses on hybrid technology, and after two years on the market it receives a light update.

We can’t even speak of a restyle, since its appearance, both inside and out, barely changes. However, there are details that have been improved on this MY15 (Model Year 2015).

The most obvious changes are in the IS interior. New materials with a grained texture now replace some trims that previously had a matte, somewhat less attractive finish.
Speaking of trim, some of the inserts that were previously available only in black tones will now be offered in metallic finishes.

Some materials covering elements such as the gear lever, the clock or the air vents also change their look, as they now aim for greater brightness. Other improvements include a denser carpet, which insulates better and feels nicer to the touch, an improved Remote Touch and a more advanced rear-view camera with a wider viewing angle.
The electrostatic controls used to operate the climate control have also been updated to achieve better ergonomics in use.

On the exterior the changes are less obvious. The most noticeable is the front fog lights, which now feature LED technology across the whole range. Previously only the F-Sport trim had them, with halogen fog lights on the other specifications. The emblem with the “hybrid” legend has a new design, inheriting the one we have already seen on the NX crossover. It is larger and more visible, emphasising the “green” focus of the Lexus.
