SportAuto tests the new 911 at the Nürburgring

The new 911 is about to be unveiled. It will be at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in September. A few weeks later it will go on sale, and the road tests in specialist magazines will spring up like mushrooms after a rainy September.
I’m sure you’re eager to know the times the myth posts on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit. Yes? Then keep reading, because SportAuto has had access to the new Carrera S PDK (991) with 400 CV and has timed it on that circuit.
These are the main technical data and results obtained by the German magazine:
Engine: 6-cylinder boxer, 3,800 cc.
Power: 400 CV at 7,400 rpm.
Torque: 440 Nm at 5,600 rpm.
Maximum rpm: 7,800 rpm.
Length: 4,491 mm.
Width: 1,808 mm.
Height: 1,290 mm.
Wheelbase: 2,450 mm.
Weight: 1,420 kg.
Tyres (front/rear): 245/35/R20 295/30/R20
0-100 km/h: 4.1 s.
Top speed: 302 km/h.
Nürburgring-Nordschleife lap time: 7:40 minutes.
If you compare this data with the figures the same magazine achieved with the current Carrera S PDK (997), you’ll notice that the new one is lighter, has more power (15 CV) and torque (20 Nm) and, above all, is much faster around the German track (no less than 10 s). This result matches the current 911 GT3.
The battle for the Nordschleife record will once again see glorious moments.
