Tata Tigor EV Electric Cars Urban
Tata Tigor EV: the low-cost Indian electric car we want to see in Europe
The Indian brand is ready to start delivering this electric model, which features a battery and a limited motor for urban mobility, but practical.

The Indian market is increasingly aware of the need to embrace electric mobility, and although the models available are still scarce, work is being done to see more of them on its streets. Tata is one of the historic brands of the Asian country and, following the success of the Tata Nexon EV, it presents a new model that will seek to carve out a place in its market. The Tata Tigor EV will be ready in a few months and will be a version of the already well-known Tigor with a combustion engine.
The model follows the line of the brand’s electric cars, so it can be easily identified. Reservations can already be made on the brand’s website, and Indian citizens who want to acquire a unit of this model will have to pay an advance of 21,000 rupees, equivalent to about 242 euros. Deliveries of the first units are scheduled for the end of this month of August, so the wait will not be very long.

The final price of the Indian electric car is 12,000 euros, according to the current exchange rate. This means it will not have very high specifications, but it will be more than adequate for users looking for an attractive electric vehicle to get around the city.
Aesthetically, it is very similar to the combustion-engine variant, but it dispenses with the front grille. This has been blanked off and the letters EV have been added to it. It is painted blue, which is the usual colour for electric vehicles. Many of the interior decorative elements are also that colour.

Battery and motor
The battery has a capacity of 26 kWh, which allows it to be recharged in just half an hour with a 50 kW direct current charger. The stored energy gives it a range of 300 kilometres, which is not bad for a vehicle with an urban spirit. The electric motor delivers 55 kW and a torque of 170 Nm. Its top speed is 60 km/h. These are not spectacular figures, but they are functional.
This model sits below the Tata Nexon EV SUV and is aimed at users who want to enjoy urban journeys.
