Tesla expands its charging network: it now has 600 charging stations in Europe
Although the charging station infrastructure is still insufficient for electric cars to become popular, Tesla continues to bet on it.

The big problem with electric mobility is the lack of charging infrastructure. All brands are working to offer the possibility of providing charging points in every country. But despite all these efforts to offer a valid solution, there is still a long way to go. Although, of course, we are not in the same situation as just a few years ago.
Tesla is betting strongly on this front, and we are finding that there are more and more facilities of this kind for its vehicles. At present, Europe has 600 charging stations, spread across 27 countries. This means that Tesla owners can travel with a certain freedom across these countries.

On average, we can find 10 chargers at each of these facilities, so the total number of charging points amounts to at least 6,000 units. If we compare it with the rest of the brands, Tesla’s Supercharger network is the most advanced on the European continent, something that works in its favour and that allows the brand to maintain a clear leadership when it comes to electric mobility.
The evolution of these facilities is quite interesting. In 2013, when the Tesla Model S was launched, Europe had only 20 Tesla charging stations. Within a year the number had grown to 110 charging stations, and by the end of 2015 it had already reached 200. 2019 closed with 500 fast-charging points for the brand. This is a progression that has grown steadily over the years and is expected to continue doing so.

More stations and more power
In parallel with the construction of these charging points, Tesla has also increased the power of its chargers. These have gone from offering 120 kW to 150 kW, but it has also begun to install a new type of Supercharger, the V3, which delivers up to 250 kW. In this way there are not only more charging points, but also charging time is considerably reduced.
As a curiosity, it is worth noting that the three largest Tesla charging stations are in Norway, the European country that has best embraced and assimilated electric mobility. The largest of all has 44 Tesla Superchargers, and the others reach 40. Europe is the third market where Tesla operates with the greatest number of this type of facility. The United States, with 1,125 stations, and China, with 925, are ahead.
