In less than two weeks, one of the most important car shows that will close out 2017 will open its doors: the Los Angeles Auto Show, where from December 1 to December 10 we will see a number of new releases. Among the brands attending, Mazda will be there, and on its stand we will be able to see, among others, the refreshed Mazda6 lineup.

The engines announced at first rule out any hybrid or fully electric technology, relying from the outset on the 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G engine with cylinder deactivation technology. With this technology the engine can run on all four cylinders or on two, adapting to driving needs and, equally important, without affecting performance at any time.

Besides this engine, and taking advantage of the Los Angeles Auto Show launch, the new Mazda6 will be available in the North American market with the SKYACTIV-G 2.5T turbo engine, a 250 CV petrol engine that first debuted in the Mazda CX-9 and is now adopted by the Mazda6 for North America.

As for exterior design, it will not differ too much from the current version, but it will adapt to the line of the brand’s latest models, applying the latest developments of its KODO design language. Its look in the partial front image they have previewed appears more aggressive and refined, with a new design for the grille, hood and bumper, with much more pronounced lines.

In the other image they provide, this one of the interior, an evolution towards a more elegant and sophisticated design with horizontal lines is clearly visible, with a new, larger touchscreen for the infotainment system. It is worth noting that, in line with the aim of offering a higher-quality product, Mazda will incorporate Sen wood in the best-equipped versions of the Mazda6, sourced from a tree traditionally used in Japan for making musical instruments and furniture.

In the area of technology and safety, the novelties focus on improvements to the i-ACTIVSENSE technology, aimed at helping identify potential risks and reduce possible damage. In this regard, the adaptive cruise control Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) can bring the car to a complete stop and then resume driving when the vehicle ahead is at a safe distance. It will also equip the Mazda 360° View Monitor camera system.

Finally, accompanying the Mazda6 on the Japanese brand’s stand, attendees will be able to enjoy the presence of the Mazda VISION COUPE, along with the racing prototype Mazda RT24-P and the Mazda MX-5 “Halfie”, a model that fuses a racing car with a production car.
