Audi e-tron Electric Cars Safety
The Audi e-tron, the brand's first electric car, earns five stars from Euro NCAP
Audi once again showcases its unbeatable safety with the e-tron, the brand’s first 100% electric model to have just earned a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.

Many electric vehicles already travel our roads to protect the planet’s wellbeing, but do they also look after ours? To answer this question, Euro NCAP decided to put to the test one of the most anticipated models of recent years: the Audi e-tron. The first 100% electric offspring of the four-ring brand caused a sensation at its world premiere thanks to its innovative systems, but now it also deserves congratulations for the level of safety it offers, having earned five stars after successfully completing every test it was subjected to.
As is usual in this type of test, the standard demanded of vehicles is very high, since they risk being classified as either safe for their occupants or dangerous. Fortunately for the German manufacturer and its potential customers, the e-tron showed an excellent performance which allowed it to achieve the maximum score.
The frontal impact takes place at a speed of 64 km/h, enough to see how all the deformation generated by the violent collision is absorbed by the bonnet itself, preventing it from penetrating the passenger compartment. All the airbags deploy instantly, with the aim of protecting its occupants at all costs.

The side impact, simulated by a vehicle travelling at 50 km/h, ends with a very similar result. We can see how the doors are responsible for absorbing all the damage caused by the impact, thus preventing the occupants themselves from suffering the blows of the crash.
The protection of occupants and pedestrians, as well as the various driver assistance systems, are also other aspects of this electric SUV that fulfil their role correctly. We can see how both the bumper and the bonnet have a great deal of deformability, allowing impacts to be less harsh and those involved to avoid serious injury. At the same time, emergency braking and lane keeping assist are two of the aids the e-tron offers, which further enhance the vehicle’s overall safety.

This is how the first 100% electric model from Audi follows in the footsteps of its combustion-engined siblings, which consistently stand out in Euro NCAP tests. At the same time, this is one more reason for the German brand to carry out its electrification plan, through which several vehicles will adopt this new powertrain.
