The Audi Q7 confirmed with an e-tron version

Audi is making considerable efforts to place as many e-tron versions as possible in its range, with electric motors, even though the R8 e-tron was cancelled. According to an executive at Audi, the next model that would have its own electric version would be the Audi Q7.
The e-tron version of the Q7 would be ready in 2015, at the same time that the current generation receives its well-deserved replacement. However, they have also mentioned that the e-tron could even arrive for the current generation, since it still has an update ahead of it.
The same executive has mentioned that despite its age, the current Q7 has had good sales, so it would not be far-fetched for them to decide on the e-tron for the current models. The new update (and final one) of the Q7 will bring its design up to date and will receive a review of its electronic systems.
The Audi A3 e-tron will be presented in 2014, so the second e-tron version from the German brand will be the next Q7, as confirmed by the source at Audi.
