The Audi RS4-R becomes the ultimate family car with its 530 CV
ABT needed a star for the Geneva Motor Show, and the Audi RS4-R was the chosen one. Thanks to a series of modifications, it is capable of delivering 530 CV.

Saloons are eagerly seeking to become versatile vehicles in every respect and, to accentuate their traits, some brands turn to tuners such as ABT. The German company is well known for modifying Audi models, which come from the factory with a radical tune-up in their RS variants, but the tuner was not satisfied with the new RS4. To solve this problem, they have developed the R version of this estate, which achieves figures on a par with its bigger brother.
ABT needed a vehicle to present in Geneva, and the Audi RS4 has become the ideal candidate. From this idea the RS4-R was born, the embodiment of the concept of sportiness the tuner has in mind and, as is customary in its work, this spirit can also be seen both outside and inside. At the same time, the engine has not escaped a tweak on par with ABT’s other creations.
Aesthetically we find a balance between sportiness, aggressiveness and sobriety, something easy to achieve thanks to the design of the factory RS4. However, the German tuner has managed to exploit each of its features until achieving the desired result, something we can see reflected in the addition of a new front splitter and a gigantic diffuser that gives the RS4-R a much rougher and more brutish look.

The interior also features a series of changes that match the more exalted character of this RS4. This is achieved with the addition of carbon fibre to various elements of the cabin, such as the steering wheel, centre console or seat kick plates, but this is not the only thing the German estate incorporates.
From the factory, the Audi RS4 features a supercharged V6 engine -unlike the previous generation- of 2.9 litres capable of producing 450 CV of power and 600 Nm of torque. After undergoing ABT’s intensive techniques, the RS4-R is able to deliver 530 CV and raise torque to 690 Nm, figures that allow the estate to reach 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 280 km/h.
These numbers are possible thanks to modifications to the ECU and the exhaust system, but the RS4-R is not just raw power. To complete the on-board experience and achieve better cornering, ABT has added adjustable suspension with anti-roll bars. At the same time, the tuner has confirmed that it is developing, together with KW automotive, a coilover suspension, which will offer a perfect balance between sportiness and comfort.

It will be at this Geneva Motor Show that we can take a closer look at this new RS4-R, which will be the star of ABT’s stand alongside other models from the brand. For now we do not know the price of the modification, but we will soon have more details about the most radical A4 created to date.
