The BMW i8 is already priced: 129.900€

The BMW i8, one of the most iconic and advanced models in the history of the German brand, is already priced in Spain.

It is the second member of the “i” family, which joins the city car i3, whose full details we have already told you about in its presentation.

As we all already know, the “i” sub-brand brings us the most advanced and intelligent models from the Bavarian brand, powered by electricity and with a design that is truly distinct from the rest of the BMW range.

Specifically, the BMW i8 is the sportiest model, also combining a spectacular design with completely innovative technology, such as LED headlights with laser technology, which we have already discussed here.

Well, BMW has announced the official price list for the i8, which will be sold in Spain with a price starting from 129.900 €. It is a figure that is a priori high, but if we analyse the profile of the vehicle and of the buyer, it does not seem that much.

In fact, we already reported a few weeks ago that the BMW i8 has sold out its first year of production, a success that not even the manufacturer itself expected.

Let us recall that the BMW i8 is a two-seater sports car with a body and chassis made of carbon fibre and composite materials. Its technology is plug-in hybrid, featuring an electric motor of 131 CV combined with a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 231 CV.

Total power reaches 362 CV, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, with a homologated mixed-cycle consumption of just 2.5 litres per 100 kilometres thanks to its ability to travel 35 km in fully electric mode.
