The BMW M8 Competition arrives with 625 CV and plenty of eagerness to hit the track
The new BMW M8 Competition features a 4.4-litre V8 engine capable of delivering 625 CV and 750 Nm of maximum torque.

The long-awaited BMW M8 has already made its debut, and it has not only been unveiled in its coupé variant, but has also arrived in its convertible version. The BMW M8 Coupé Competition and the BMW M8 Convertible Competition are both eager to hit the road, whether on public roads or on the circuit.
Under the bonnet of the models, as standard on the BMW M8 in both its coupé and convertible variants, you can see and hear an imposing twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine that delivers 750 Nm of maximum torque and 600 CV, the same unit fitted to the BMW M5.

Now, the Bavarian brand has wanted to go further and has equipped the powertrains of the new Competition versions of its large sporting coupé with an extra dose of power, reaching 625 CV. It is worth highlighting that all versions of the BMW M8 come equipped with an advanced xDrive all-wheel-drive system coupled to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
The standard BMW M8 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds in its coupé version and 3.4 seconds in its convertible version. The new Competition versions are a little more aggressive, as the coupé version of the BMW M8 has shaved off a tenth, reaching 3.2 seconds, and the convertible reaches 3.3 seconds.

BMW M8 Competition, a beast on the road and on the track
The all-wheel-drive system of the M8 family incorporates an Active M differential and includes two normal driving modes: 4WD and 4WD Sport. If drivers wish to disable the dynamic stability control, they can select a 2WD mode that sends all the power to the rear wheels.
BMW has stated that it is particularly proud of the suspension configuration of the new BMW M8 Competition. This model features M-specific adaptive dampers and the M Servotronic electromechanical steering. The vehicle’s dynamic stability control system offers an M Mode that allows a greater degree of wheel slip.
Other important elements of the chassis configuration include an X-shaped steel brace and an aluminium crossmember on the rear axle. Not forgetting the reinforced roll bars and a rigid transparent panel with integrated side connections at the front.
Included on all versions of the new BMW M8 Competition, whether or not you opt for the M carbon-ceramic brakes, is the brand’s integrated braking system, which provides brake activation, boosting and control functions. Drivers can choose between two pedal feels: one suited to comfortable driving, while the other provides a direct pedal feel.
All models in the BMW M8 family come loaded with standard features in their cabins. Among the technology they feature, the Head-Up Display, Driving Assistant, Parking Assistant and BMW Live Cockpit Professional stand out. There is also the M Mode button on the centre console, which allows drivers to choose between the Road, Sport and Track settings.
Prices for the new BMW M8 Coupé start at 118,000 euros in the United States, while the convertible rises to 126,000 euros. The BMW M8 Competition models will sit between 130,000 and 140,000 euros.
