The BMW Series 3 GT introduces new equipment, engines and a new package

BMW Spain has set to work on giving the Series 3 GT range a bit of a refresh, adding a new diesel engine. They have also added all-wheel drive xDrive on four of the powertrains on sale, ConnectedDrive is now fitted as standard, and the new M Sport package is introduced.

The new engine added to the Series 3 GT range from 1 August is the 2-litre diesel with 218 CV, badged 325d, with a claimed consumption of 5.1 l/100 km and a top speed of 240 km/h. It can be bought with rear-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual gearbox or in an 8-speed automatic version. Prices will be 43,900 and 46,451 euros, depending on the type of transmission.

Another important new feature BMW has introduced to the Series 3 GT range is the four-wheel all-wheel drive, the xDrive system. It is offered on three of the petrol versions and one of the diesels, with prices starting at 42,700 euros for the 320i xDrive.

The ConnectedDrive system, which allows an emergency call to be made at no cost to the car owner, will be standard on all Series 3 GT models. If the car is bought with the Professional navigation package, you get an internet connection, real-time traffic alerts and auxiliary apps, such as weather information.

Finally, a fourth package will be added to the existing ones, so the Series 3 GT range will be made up of the Modern Line, Luxury Line and Sport Line versions, plus the recently introduced M Sport. This package adds a front grille with 9 bars in high-gloss Schwarz finish, the M aerodynamic package (combining a new bumper design with a rear spoiler, rear diffuser and side skirts), chrome exhaust outlets, 18- or 19-inch M alloy wheels, sport suspension, Driving Experience Control, sport seats upholstered in cloth and Alcántara, a sport multifunction steering wheel upholstered in leather, an instrument cluster with red-coloured dials, a shortened gear lever upholstered in Nappa leather and interior trim in Aluminium Hexagon finish.
