Ford Focus 1.0-litre EcoBoost

Ford announces the arrival of a new variant to its Focus range. It is another, better-equipped alternative featuring the award-winning 1.0 Ecoboost three-cylinder petrol engine.

In this case, Ford boasts of having launched the first European petrol car that emits less than 100 g of CO2 per km, achieving this milestone just one year and a few months after its debut.

This version delivers 100 CV with an average consumption of 4.2 litres per 100 km, which equates to CO2 emissions of 99 g per kilometre driven. Bearing the “ECOnetic Technology” name, this Focus benefits from numerous improvements to its operation that allow it to achieve such carefully honed consumption.
Starting with the engine, the 1.0 Ecoboost has improved electronic management, making even more efficient use of the fuel.
In addition, this version also features low-rolling-resistance tyres, as well as specific aerodynamic details on the bodywork (such as the underbody panels). The gearbox has longer ratios so the engine turns at fewer revolutions, consuming less.

All these新 innovations join the technological content already standard with this engine. We are referring to elements such as Start&Stop, Intelligent Regenerative Charging, or Active Grille Shutter, which modifies the aerodynamics in real time to adapt to driving conditions, always aiming for minimum consumption.
Let us recall that the 1.0 Ecoboost is one of the smallest and most efficient petrol engines in the world. It combines a low-inertia turbo with direct injection to deliver up to 125 CV across many body styles, from the Fiesta to the B-Max, including the Focus or the upcoming EcoSport.
