The Dacia Spring, the brand's first electric car, will arrive this very month
Dacia is warming up to present the Dacia Spring, its first 100% electric model, which will make its debut this October.
Dacia, the brand that arrived years ago as a low-cost alternative, is once again showing that you don’t need a lot of money to develop a really interesting car. This is exactly what they confirmed to us after the facelift of the Dacia Logan and Dacia Sandero, two models that will very soon be joined by a new family member: the Spring. The Romanian firm, under the guidance of its father and mentor Renault, wants to revolutionise the launch of the car segment, in what will possibly become the cheapest electric car.
Indeed, Dacia hinted at its intentions some time ago with a very revealing concept car which, just as will happen with the production version, was hidden behind the name Spring. This name was used by the brand to develop a vehicle with a crossover appearance but modest dimensions, which will take as its starting point the Renault City K-ZE, a 100% electric vehicle sold only in China.
With this premise, it is easy to predict with great accuracy the characteristics of the Dacia Spring, a model that will be focused mainly on tackling the urban world. This is precisely the reason for being of the City K-ZE, a model that, with modest performance, perfectly meets our everyday needs around the city.

Everything points to the Dacia Spring using the same mechanical layout as its counterpart from Renault. In other words, we would be talking about an electric vehicle capable of delivering 45 CV and 125 Nm of torque, figures that would be combined with a range of around 250 kilometres, a distance more than sufficient to cover our day-to-day journeys.
As far as design is concerned, we should not expect many changes compared with the concept, a vehicle that already shows features very faithful to the design language of the current Dacia range. In this way, we would be talking about one of the most interesting options in this already crowded sector.

It will be later this October when Dacia holds the unveiling of the Dacia Spring. In this way, the Romanian firm enters the world of electric cars in a very interesting way, not only by keeping its value for money intact, but also by adding an electric family to its model range, thus guaranteeing a line-up of affordable vehicles committed to caring for the environment.
