The Fiat Linea reveals the 2013 model

Fiat has revealed the 2013 model of the Fiat Linea, its three-box, four-door saloon. Priced affordably for a saloon, which places it within reach of most buyers, the Linea receives minor updates at the front and rear, along with somewhat more substantial changes to the interior and dashboard.

The front now adopts new bumpers with fog lights and a new grille with a more aggressive look than the previous model, while at the rear the boot lid has been modified. Two new colours have been added to the exterior palette, and new alloy wheel designs are also available.

The more noticeable changes are inside, where there is a similarity to the instrument panel of the Punto Evo. It also integrates front and side airbags, a new centre console, and several interior elements that have been improved or repositioned. The quality of the materials is what is to be expected in this type of model, which is more oriented towards an affordable price, but the equipment is appealing: ABS, EBD, air conditioning, electric windows, leather steering wheel, height-adjustable driver’s seat and the Blue & Me infotainment system.

As for the engine, only the 1.3 Multijet diesel engine is offered, producing 95 CV and paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Performance includes a top speed of 170 km/h and a 0-100 time of 13.8 seconds. The average consumption that Fiat quotes is 4.9 l/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 129 g/km.

Linea prices start at a list price of 17,900 euros with the Confort Pack, while the version with the Light Pack costs 1,000 euros less. This price reduction comes at the cost of losing some equipment details, such as the side airbags and other comfort features. However, one should not overlook the promotional offers currently available from Fiat: the monthly promotion, plus the eco Bonus Fiat, to which the PIVE Plan and a further 1,000 euros of discount are added depending on the financing chosen, so the accumulated discount amounts to 5,100 euros. The final price should be around 12,800 euros.
