The first 48 V Opel Corsa Hybrid is here, from €22,500

The iconic Opel Corsa, the compact icon of urban mobility, is reinvented once again to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Since its recent metamorphosis, this vehicle arrives with a long-awaited, renewed energy powertrain, blending the brand’s characteristic elegance with cutting-edge technology in its hybrid version.

Under the name Opel Corsa Hybrid, this small giant positions itself as a leader in efficiency and sustainability, equipped with a 48-volt propulsion system. The Corsa Hybrid also offers the possibility of driving in fully electric mode at low speeds.

This new model is available from €22,250 and features the brand’s new Opel Vizor design and a technologically advanced interior, which we will show you below.

Engine of 136 CV or 100 CV

One of the most outstanding features of the Corsa Hybrid is its propulsion system, which incorporates a 48-volt lithium-ion battery that recharges automatically under certain driving conditions. There are two turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine options to choose from: one of 74 kW/100 CV and another of 100 kW/136 CV. These engines are coupled to an electrified dual-clutch six-speed transmission, along with a 21 kW/28 CV electric motor.

Fuel economy and emissions

In terms of efficiency, the Corsa Hybrid far surpasses its purely conventional counterpart, with a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of approximately 18%.

The driving pleasure is enhanced by the efficiency of the hybrid system, with notable fuel savings compared to the non-electrified versions. For example, the Corsa Hybrid of 74 kW/100 CV can save almost 1.0 l/100 km of fuel compared with its conventional equivalent, while the Corsa Hybrid GS with 100 kW/136 CV offers equally impressive performance.

New digital panel

The on-board experience of the Corsa Hybrid is complemented by a fully digital instrument cluster, displaying detailed information on vehicle performance and battery status. In addition, the multimedia infotainment system offers advanced connectivity, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

When it comes to safety and comfort, the Corsa Hybrid does not skimp on technology. Equipped as standard with numerous driver-assistance systems, such as Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control, it offers a safer and more relaxed drive. In addition, optional extras such as the Matrix Intelli-Lux LED light® and the Panoramic Rear View Camera raise the level of safety to new heights.
