The Ford Capri electric is already on its way to dealerships across Europe
The Ford Capri electric is a modern reinterpretation of the iconic model from the 1970s and 1980s, this time in the form of a fully electric SUV coupé.
Three months after announcing its market launch, the North American manufacturer has just kicked off customer deliveries of the new Capri electric, built in Cologne, as well as the dispatch of the first units destined for dealerships across Europe.
At Ford they are confident that this new SUV Coupé will be a sales success, and they base this confidence on the fact that, to date, almost 200,000 customers have already personalised their Capri in Europe through the brand’s website.

Based on the MEB platform of Volkswagen, like its sibling the Ford Explorer, the Capri is offered in four versions at launch: two of them with rear-wheel drive and two others with all-wheel drive. In each case, buyers can also choose between the standard version or the Premium version with a higher level of equipment.
In Spain, prices range from €48,095 for the entry-level version up to €60,403 for the top-of-the-range all-wheel-drive version. Although all versions have their top speed limited to 180 km/h, the power and battery capacity vary depending on the version. The model offering the greatest range is the standard rear-wheel-drive version, with which, according to the manufacturer, it is possible to travel up to 627 km on a single charge under the WLTP homologation cycle.
The legend continues
Coinciding with the dispatch of the first Capri units to dealerships, Jon Williams, the current President of Ford Blue in Europe, wanted to recall that the new fully electric Capri is the natural evolution of the iconic sports coupé that we all remember. He has also said that he is excited about its return to the market and about the fact that a new generation of Ford customers can enjoy the style and personality that made the Capri a legend.

The launch of the new Capri not only represents another step forward for the American manufacturer in the company’s transition towards electric mobility, but also revives the name of an emblematic model for the brand, giving it a much more modern and sustainable approach.
