The Ford Explorer 2020 is spotted wearing camouflage paint
While the countdown ticks down for Ford to officially unveil the new Ford Explorer, we have had the chance to spot one of these models in camouflage paint, trying to keep its lines under wraps.
It is true that the images look a lot like a facelift rather than an all-new model when it comes to the design of the new generation of the Ford Explorer, however, we assure you that this is the new model.
The change is obvious, especially considering the almost complete redesign of the front end of the vehicle, although of course, the brand has preferred to keep the essence of its predecessors.

Beyond its nose and its different proportions, which we will explain below, the next generation Explorer also gets a reinforced chassis and a more angular design on the rear elements, including the more compact “three-dimensional” rear lights.
A much more spacious interior for cargo
From what we can see, the interior has been redesigned on a more angular platform. Elements such as the centre console are a clear example of this. It also seems we will find a screen of a size similar to a medium tablet running along the central part of the dashboard.

2013 Ford Explorer
It will feature Ford’s latest driver assistance systems, all grouped under a system known as Co-Pilot 360, which includes an emergency braking system, blind-spot warnings, a lane-keeping system, as well as rear cameras and automatic lights.
What kind of engine will it have?
The new Explorer will come with four-wheel drive and several engine options. For now, both the 2.3-litre version and the 3.3-litre V6 hybrid are on the table, along with a 3.0 V6 EcoBoost combined with an automatic gearbox. The turbocharged 3.0-litre Explorer ST will produce around 400 CV of power.

It will compete with rivals such as the Chevrolet Traverse, the Dodge Durango, the Toyota Highlander or the Mazda CX-9, among others.
Its arrival on the market is expected in mid to early 2020.
