The Ford Focus Cosworth will arrive at the SEMA Show

Ford Europe and Cosworth have teamed up once again to bring a very radical version of the Focus ST to SEMA, this time with 330 CV.

Although the much-loved Escort Cosworth went to the great scrapyard in the sky many years ago, Ford Europe and the ailing Cosworth have once again joined forces to bring a 330 CV version of the Focus ST to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

According to Cosworth itself, this comes through “optimisation of the intake and exhaust,” and marks the first collaboration between Ford and the legendary engine tuning house since the days of the Focus ST 170, when it prepared the previous Duratec engine.

No further details have been given about this Focus, but its build is based on the same Ecoboost engine as the ST. As for the styling, we may or may not agree with the way it has been dressed up for the occasion, but it is destined for SEMA, where it will keep company with plenty of other Ford models and illustrious American cousins such as the Mustang.

Nothing has been said about a possible new partnership between Ford and Cosworth, but it would certainly be interesting. Even more interesting would be if Ford bought Cosworth, which is currently facing some financial problems. Or would that be asking too much?
