The Ford Transit Connect improves efficiency and technological equipment

The need to offer improvements in commercial vehicles is an incentive for brands to keep upgrading their performance, bringing them closer to passenger cars and making comfort and ease of driving an added value on top of what they already offer. The case of the Ford Transit Connect is no different, and the new generation is equipped with the technology the brand offers across many of its models.
According to the company behind the blue oval, the Ford Transit Connect features driver assistance systems such as traffic sign recognition and lane keeping assist, two of the technologies that enhance safety behind the wheel. In addition, it will be the first to debut in the European market the voice-activated SYNC 2 connectivity system. These systems will be available on the Van and Kombi versions, with L1 and L2 variants.
As for engines, the range now includes the TDCi 1.5 powertrain, which replaces the 1.6-litre petrol model with automatic gearbox. This engine delivers 120 CV and a maximum torque of 300 Nm, paired with an automatic gearbox. The engine meets all the specifications that qualify it for the category set out in the Euro 6 standard.
From spring 2016, variants of this engine from the Stage VI family will arrive across the various Ford Transit Connect models, replacing the TDCi 1.6 engines of 75 CV, 95 CV and 115 CV. They offer improved technical specifications, lower consumption and fewer polluting emissions, even though the engine is lighter and smaller in displacement. The Ford Transit Connect Courier now features the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, the most frugal in the family, which achieves a consumption of 5.1 litres/100 km and emissions of 115 g/km.
Depending on the version, the Ford Transit Connect offers 3 to 3.7 cubic metres of load capacity, equivalent to a maximum payload of 1,000 kg. The smallest model, the Ford Transit Connect Courier, has a payload of up to 660 kg and is roughly the size of a Segment B car.
