The GTS and GTS Sport Turismo versions of the second-generation Porsche Panamera are now a reality

They have been a long time coming, but the hot-blooded GTS version has finally arrived for the second generation of the Porsche Panamera and its more family-oriented Sport Turismo version

With the creation of the Panamera, Porsche Porsche further broadened its customer base, reaching those who seek sportiness together with the comfort of a saloon. That range expanded even further with the Sport Turismo variant of the Panamera, an even more family-friendly version. But since at a brand like Porsche Porsche there are no limits, the GTS versions joined these two, with an extra dose of spice that put greater emphasis on sportiness.

With the arrival of the new Porsche Porsche Panamera, the family was looking a little lopsided, a problem that in Stuttgart has now been addressed with the announcement of the GTS versions of the new Panamera. The philosophy remains the same for both versions, GTS and GTS Sport Turismo: enhanced equipment complemented by styling changes and an engine that delivers a greater sporting feel, which also combine with the increased versatility offered by the Sport Turismo variant of the Panamera.

The new Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo can be told apart from a standard Panamera at first glance. For this occasion, the new Sport Design package is used, which includes various elements in several shades of black, such as on the front or in the mouldings along the lower part of the rear, giving it a more sporty appearance. The final touch comes from the standard 20-inch Panamera Design wheels, as well as the GTS lettering on the lower part of the front doors.

Inside, there are changes too: numerous elements are now upholstered in Alcantara, such as the multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters. The anodised aluminium is used for elements such as the dashboard trim or the centre console, and you can also personalise other parts to your taste, such as the stitching, the rev counter background or the GTS logos. In terms of equipment, besides adopting all the systems of the second generation, the Head-Up Display and the Connect Plus module for digital services are included as standard.

Under its bonnet, the new Porsche Porsche Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo house a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 460 CV and a maximum torque of 620 Nm, which means 20 CV and 100 Nm more than its predecessor. This allows it to reach 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, with a top speed of 292 km/h for the GTS and 289 km/h for the GTS Sport Turismo. The engine is paired with the well-known eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels. With this engine, the Panamera GTS achieves a combined consumption of 10.3 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 235 g/km, while the GTS Sport Turismo’s combined consumption is 10.6 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 242 g/km.

To haul in all this power, large 390 mm front and 365 mm rear brake discs are fitted, ensuring powerful braking. At chassis level there are also improvements to achieve better cornering: its height has been reduced by 10 mm, the tuning of the PASM adaptive dampers has been adjusted for greater sportiness, and adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology is fitted as standard. The icing on the cake is the Sport Chrono package from Porsche Porsche, which is included as standard.

The new Porsche Porsche Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo are already available in our country, with a starting price of 159,924 euros and 163,182 euros respectively, excluding any possible discounts or promotions.
