Civic Honda Sedans Hybrid Cars
The Honda Civic will be reborn in 2027 with a new generation
The new Honda Civic is set to launch in 2027, with new features in its architecture, powertrain and equipment, to keep on winning.

The twelfth generation of the Honda Civic appears to be close, and in 2027 it will arrive to remain one of the best-selling cars in the world. Some time ago, Honda published several images of the hybrid prototype of the new Honda Civic under fairly dense camouflage, which hid much of the vehicle’s design details. Even so, we could see several elements that hinted at the new Civic.
The complex camouflage does not reveal the details of the bodywork, but the brand has announced some of the changes the model will undergo. To begin with, the structure on which the car will be built will weigh less than that of the current model. Specifically, it will be 90 kg lighter, which will benefit the vehicle.

But this weight reduction will not be the only decisive factor of this new architecture. It will also have greater structural rigidity, more precise steering and better-balanced handling. Added to this will be wider tracks and the incorporation of a motion management system (MMS) and an improved version of the Agile Handling Assist (Agile Handling Assist). This includes pitch control, which helps the car stay more stable and balanced when cornering at high speed.
Powertrain of the new Honda Civic
This new Honda Civic will offer an e:HEV full hybrid propulsion system. It will consist of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine together with two electric motors. This system is expected to improve fuel consumption by 30% and increase overall performance.
The Civic will also include the “Honda S+ Shift“ system, which was seen in the Prelude coupé. This system is based on software rather than hardware and simulates gear changes through precise modulation of sound and torque. And it does so without the transmission having a traditional gearbox.
Parts interchangeable with other models
One of the ways Honda has found to reduce the production cost of the Civic is for roughly 60% of the parts used in the model to be shared with other models in the brand, such as the HR-V, CR-V and Accord. In this way development costs are reduced and new models can reach the market sooner.
The twelfth generation of the Honda Civic will be ready by late 2026 or early 2027 and will compete against models such as the Toyota Corolla, the Hyundai Elantra and the KIA K4.
