The Honda Prelude will reach Europe, but not in the way we expected
The prototype shown at the Tokyo Motor Show will arrive in Europe within a couple of years, although it is expected to undergo changes to its configuration to do so.

Only a few weeks ago, Honda surprised us with the presentation of the Honda Prelude, a car that moves away from what many of us consider a concept car, but comes quite close to what will be a production car. We are going to see it in Europe sooner than we thought, since they already warned back then that it would be a car aimed at the international market.
However, the car we saw at the Tokyo Motor Show will not be the same one that arrives in Europe. The idea was for it to be a car that could work just as well on the track as on the road. A model was expected that could have gone up against the Toyota GR 86 or the Subaru BRZ, two powerful models in that segment, but apparently, upon its arrival in Europe, it is going to undergo some significant modification.

These planned changes will shift the car’s purpose and turn it into a coupé with a comfortable interior, where comfort for long journeys takes priority. In other words, it will become a Gran Turismo, ideal for travelling and letting its engine take you along, without giving up comfort.
The arrival of the Honda Prelude has been set for late 2025 or early 2026, so it will not be immediate. For now, nothing has been said about changes to its drivetrain, which will remain the same hybrid engine found in the Honda Civic hybrid. That said, it is not ruled out that some change may be applied to it, or even that its performance may be altered in some way.
As for the interior, Honda has not yet shown anything, because the car it presented in Tokyo was nothing more than a mock-up without a developed interior. So we will still have to see what Honda has in store for this model, which we already know has moved towards comfort and the possibility of long journeys.
