Lancia Ypsilon Electric Cars Urban
The Lancia Ypsilon begins to take shape in Figueruelas, before being presented
The Figueruelas plant is already producing the new Lancia Ypsilon, which will reach the market in early 2024, with a refreshed look.

For several months now, we have known that the Lancia Ypsilon would be assembled at the Figueruelas plant, in Zaragoza. This is the renewal of the model, which will reach the market within a few months. In fact, it has not yet been officially presented and is still in that limbo in which cars are yet to be unveiled. Nevertheless, it is already being produced at the Aragonese factory.
The announcement of production at the Spanish plant came in January, but it was in June that several details about the model’s features were revealed. It was following the visit of Lancia’s top executive, Luca Napolitano, to the plant that part of what the vehicle will offer was disclosed.
Napolitano himself shared on his Instagram account his visit to Figueruelas at the end of July to confirm that the first Ypsilon unit has rolled off the assembly line. No, the car is not visible, but the executive can be seen posing in front of a worker who is presumably working on a part of that first car.
This version is expected to be very close to the Opel Corsa, since, being built in the same plant, they will share many characteristics. It will be around four metres long, have five doors and seek to break away from the design traditionally followed by the brand’s models.
To do so, the Lancia Pu+Ra HPE has been looked at, the concept model presented some time ago that will mark the path Lancia will follow from now on. This model aims to represent the Italian brand’s response to the future Renault 5 and the MINI, which will be positioned in the same segment.
What the new Ypsilon will offer
The Lancia Ypsilon will offer several engine options, both petrol and fully electric. In the first case, it will use a 1.2 PureTech petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybridisation. As for the electric version, it will offer a power output of 156 CV and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, sent to the front axle.
In this case, the battery will be 57 kWh, allowing the car to reach 400 kilometres of range according to the WLTP cycle. This is all we know for now. The official presentation will take place over the coming months and the car will reach the market a few months later, in 2024.
