The Land Rover Discovery, now in the limited Metropolitan edition
Land Rover adds the limited Metropolitan edition to the Discovery range, with equipment geared toward luxury and exclusivity

More technology and more exclusivity for the recently updated Land Rover Discovery, which goes on sale in a special edition called Metropolitan, with which the English brand aims to further enhance the comfort and refinement of the seven-seat SUV.
This new special edition sits at the top of the Discovery range, and can be specified with either the petrol engines from the Ingenium family or the six-cylinder inline diesels, all of them featuring 48-volt mild hybrid MHEV technology. Specifically, this version is reserved for the 300 CV 3.0D I6 and the 360 CV 3.0 I6, in both cases with four-wheel drive.
More luxury and refinement for the Discovery
The Metropolitan versions are based on the R-Dynamic HSE trim and add specific details to the grille, as well as the Discovery badge on the front. Other distinguishing details include silver inserts in the bumper, spectacular polished 22-inch alloy wheels, black-finished brake calipers and a panoramic sunroof that opens.

The equipment is completed by a heated steering wheel, a head-up display projecting instrumentation onto the windscreen, a wireless phone charger, a four-zone climate control system and a cooled compartment that serves as a small fridge in the front console. As standout features, Land Rover notes that the Discovery is one of the best 4x4s in its class when it comes to towing a trailer (towing capacity of 3,500 kg), thanks also to the reversing assistance system.

Its drawback is its price, which is very high compared with other vehicles in its class with similar characteristics. To get a Discovery in this new limited Metropolitan edition you have to pay a whopping 108,750 euros, a price at which rivals such as a Audi Q8 or even an BMW X7 fit in; models that may not be as ready to leave the tarmac as the Discovery, but surpass it in refinement, comfort and dynamic qualities.
