Discovery Sport Land Rover Range / versions SUV
The Land Rover Discovery Sport is driving around camouflaged, but its interior is exposed
The new Land Rover Discovery Sport will offer an optional third row of seats with two additional seats, as was visible in the vinyl wraps covering the bodywork during the tests carried out these past few days in the United Kingdom

Manufacturers typically use vinyl wraps to disguise the shapes of their cars during tests ahead of their official unveiling. These are “disguises” that hide the bodywork details so as not to give competitors unnecessary clues about the car’s final look. Sometimes, however, they can use this system to build anticipation for the car.
That is exactly what they have done with the new Land Rover Discovery Sport, which has been seen driving through several British cities wearing the corresponding camouflage. Those wraps covering the bodywork during testing did, however, hide a surprise that revealed some of the features the brand wants to highlight in this new version.
Anyone who saw the new Land Rover Discovery Sport would not have paid much attention to the shape of the brand’s new SUV, since the wraps disguising it were designed to draw attention to its interior. Instead of the traditional patterns meant to hide the details, these featured images of the interior, as if the bodywork were translucent.
The main novelty is the introduction of a third row of seats, which can be fitted optionally, adding space for passengers at the rear of the model. The size remains that of a five-seat compact SUV, but it will offer the option of increasing its capacity by two more seats.
With this move, Land Rover not only gets the new Discovery Sport onto the usual testing routes without being too conspicuous, but, knowing it will attract onlookers, it also takes the opportunity to showcase what will be part of its appeal: the interior. From 2015 it will be available at dealerships alongside the version currently on sale.
