The last Porsche 911 (991) to be auctioned to help fight COVID-19
With the aim of helping in the fight against the coronavirus, Porsche will auction the last unit built of the 991-generation 911 Speedster

As you will surely already know, the Porsche 911 has recently welcomed a new generation, so the previous 991 series has already ended production, specifically in December, with the departure from the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant of the last 911 Speedster, which also served to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the brand together with 1,948 other units built previously.
Unfortunately, the start of spring has been exceptionally turbulent around the world because of the coronavirus, so Porsche has wanted to do its bit to help eradicate this pandemic. As a result, this exclusive and special 911 Speedster (991) will be auctioned and the proceeds donated to the COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund of the United Way organization. But the lucky auction winner will not only take home this 911 Speedster; they will also enjoy an unforgettable experience at the Porsche AG facilities in Weissach and receive an exclusive limited-edition chronograph.

Starting with the vehicle in question, this Porsche 911 Speedster has GT Silver Metallic paintwork on its bodywork, and it is also fitted with the Heritage Design package, which allows buyers to choose from a wide range of paint colours, leather and trim finishes, as well as to select which numbered plate they want installed between the seats of the 1,948 units built. What makes this unit special is that it is exactly the last one built, and to leave no doubt about this, a certificate of authenticity from Porsche confirms that the chassis number belongs to the last model of the 991 generation.
It is worth remembering that this 911 Speedster has under its bonnet a naturally aspirated six-cylinder flat-six engine of 4,000 cc, which delivers 502 CV and 469 Nm of torque, with the power sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, allowing it to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 309 km/h. We hope this engine and this power will soon be showcased, since this particular unit is still unregistered and has only covered 33 km.

But as I mentioned a little earlier, the vehicle will not be the only thing the auction winner takes home, as they will also be given a book illustrating the assembly and completion of that unit, as well as a tour of the Porsche facilities in Weissach together with a experience on the test track and, to finish, a limited-edition 911 Speedster Heritage Design chronograph, a Swiss-made watch exclusive to owners of the 911 Speedster.
