The Lepas L8 is unveiled with many of its specifications and its final design

The Lepas L8 is ready to go on sale in Spain and has already been officially presented. We already know several details that will make this model one of the most anticipated Chinese models of 2026. The model will begin selling from the second quarter of the year and will become the brand’s first model in our country.

It is a plug-in hybrid SUV that offers a personal style and a combination of features such as efficiency, a contemporary design and technology applied to improve driver assistance. The architecture on which this model is built also offers technological solutions for drivers.

It is called the LEX and has been designed to support several propulsion sources, both with a combustion engine or purely electric, as well as several vehicle types of different sizes. It is oriented, however, towards full electrification, although it can also be used with combustion engines.

The architecture has been tested in extreme temperatures, ranging from -45ºC to 80ºC. It has also been tested in high-humidity environments, steep gradients, high altitude and with different wading depths, where it has overcome all challenges.

Lepas L8 powertrain

The plug-in hybrid propulsion system consists of a 1.5-litre combustion engine with an electric system, managed through a highly efficient DHT transmission. Together, the two motors deliver a power output of 205 kW, equivalent to 279 CV, and a maximum torque of 365 Nm. The battery fitted to the L8 has a capacity of 18.4 kWh. With it, the car can run in fully electric mode for 100 kilometres. Total range is rated at 1,300 kilometres, enough for any journey.

Later on, an all-wheel-drive version will be added, equipped with a larger 32 kWh battery. With this battery, it will be able to cover up to 180 kilometres in electric mode and have a total range of 1,400 kilometres.

Inside, there is a digital system based on the 8155 chip with advanced connectivity that includes voice control and offers a smooth experience. The catalogue includes more than 20 ADAS systems that improve driving in an affordable way, including automatic parking assist and remote parking, which help make manoeuvres easier and enhance safety.

Exterior design

The Leopard Aesthetics design language applied to the Lepas L8 is inspired by the agility and precision of the leopard, and has been used to create a fluid, modern silhouette. The front headlights feature a light signature called the “vertical pupil“, while the daytime running lights are designed in a V shape. At the rear, a light bar has been fitted that emphasises the car’s width and modern design.

It measures 4,688 millimetres in length, with a width of 1,871 millimetres and a height of 1,694 millimetres. The wheelbase is a generous 2,800 millimetres, which allows the interior to be comfortable and makes travelling in the model comfortable. The boot offers a capacity of 507 litres, enough for the luggage of all occupants.

The cabin

The Lepas L8’s cabin features a design called SKYLINE Cabin, conceived as an elegant space with technological elements, inspired by natural landscapes and organic materials. The central vertical screen gives access to all the digital control elements and creates a strong sense of immersion.

The seats are equipped with a massage and ventilation system and the car has a high-fidelity sound system. Long journeys can be made very comfortable thanks to the comfort equipment. The 19-inch wheels can be swapped for 20-inch ones. We will soon reveal more details about this model, but we are already learning about features that are proving very interesting.
