The German brand is determined to welcome the year 2023 with a refreshed image for the Mercedes-Benz Class B, with slight modifications to update it.

As the end of the year approaches, brands usually unveil new features for their vehicles. This is the case of the Mercedes-Benz Class B, which has just received design changes ahead of the coming year. The brand has presented these modifications, which are not many but do give the model a different touch.

At the front, the bumper has been redesigned. The grille has also been modified to present a more dynamic and attractive look. LED headlights have also been added, providing a more modern appearance. At the rear, the light clusters have been replaced, which now also use LED technology and are split into two sections.

At the rear there are also two fairly subtle spoilers, one on each side of the rear window. The wheels have also received updates, as there are now four new wheel designs. A new set of 19-inch wheels is included.

Changes and new features are also found in the cabin. To begin with, we see the steering wheel, which now has a flattened lower section. The instrumentation is displayed on a seven-inch screen, while the multimedia screen grows to 10.25 inches.

On the latter, it is important to note that the rotary controller that used to sit beneath it has been removed. The MBUX infotainment system has also been updated and now features an improved voice interface “Hey, Mercedes“, a fingerprint sensor and three display styles. These are called Classic, Sport and Discreet.

To advance sustainability, Mercedes has added 100% recycled materials, so the improvement in this area is also notable. The driver assistance systems have been supplemented with additional elements and technologies, and a trailer assist system has been added.

Engines

As for powertrains, the Mercedes-Benz Class B will offer electrification across the petrol engine range. The electrification uses 48-volt technology and a belt-driven starter generator. The model will be offered in the B 250 e, B 180, B 200, B 220 4Matic, B 250 4Matic, B 180 d, B 200 d and B 220 d versions.

In the case of the plug-in hybrid versions, these will feature an improved high-capacity battery. The charging system offers a power of between 3.7 kW and 11 kW for alternating current and up to 22 kW for direct current. The electric motor reaches a power of 80 kW, slightly more than the previous version.
