The Mercedes-Benz EQS, the company's electric saloon, is hinted at in its first teaser

Mercedes-Benz has been working in the electric sector with Smart and the Mercedes-Benz EQC, the first member of the EQ family. It didn’t take long to meet more members, such as the EQV or the newly presented EQA; but there is room for more. And the star brand has in mind to offer a complete range of electric cars, and a flagship could not be missing from it, with the Mercedes-Benz EQS being the ideal candidate.

The brand has already given us details of this future saloon through the hyperscreen, the new screen that the electric luxury saloon will feature. In addition, Mercedes-Benz has also released various official photos of the EQS, still camouflaged, a clear sign that its development was nearing completion.

But now the star brand has decided to go one step further and offer the first teaser of its next EQ vehicle. This is already a sign that, despite the mystery surrounding the EQS, it will be a matter of weeks or even days before we finally learn all the details of the electric saloon, a model that not only promises to put the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT, two of its main rivals, under pressure, but also to revolutionise the electric segment.

For the moment, Mercedes-Benz continues to maintain a deafening silence on the matter, and the teaser still leaves many doubts about the EQS. The darkness in which the electric saloon is shrouded prevents us from making out its features in detail, and we are only allowed to see its silhouette through a message: “Take a look at the One-Bow design – arc-shaped – of the EQS electric saloon.”

Because, although it lands as the electric counterpart of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, of which, by the way, you can read a brief first look here, the EQS wants to offer a new concept. Its sleeker and more aggressive design hints at a behaviour in which dynamism has been polished rather than comfort, offering its future owners the chance to enjoy a certain amount of fun wrapped in maximum exclusivity.

Be that as it may, just a few weeks – or days, we insist – separate us from the new Mercedes-Benz EQS, the electric saloon that promises to mark a before and after in the history of the brand. With this premise, the star brand is now ready to fuel an intense war that has only just begun.
