The most sporty ID.Buzz comes from Zyrus Engineering

The Dutch tuner, specialised in sporty transformations, has worked on the electric van from Volkswagen and has shown the result.

The arrival of the Volkswagen ID.Buzz is a milestone for electric vans, as it is a model that revives the spirit of the brand’s most iconic vans. But for some buyers, it falls short. To satisfy those who want a more striking version of this electric vehicle, Zyrus Engineering has worked to offer that possibility.

For now, the tuning company specialised in sporty versions has only published conceptual images, showing how the model would look if it passed through its workshop. It hopes to attract the attention of buyers and receive the first orders at the beginning of 2023, delivering the result shortly afterwards.

The Volkswagen ID.Buzz has already surpassed 10,000 reservations and will soon reach the estimate forecast for 2022, which stands at 15,000 units. How many will pass through Zyrus’s hands? Not many, but the tuner’s proposal certainly draws considerable attention and seems quite appealing for anyone wanting to increase the vehicle’s presence on the road.

The proposal is called Z Buzz and at first glance it is clearly lower to the ground than the model it is based on. This suggests it will have firmer, shorter-travel suspension. The new bumpers and sill panels also stand out. They feature carbon fibre inserts in black or in the same colour as the bodywork, in this case, white.

At the rear, a spoiler and a diffuser are added, which help improve aerodynamics and give the sporty image the tuner wants to offer. The exterior is completed by 22-inch ZWheels alloy wheels, also made of carbon fibre so that they stand out against the van’s white bodywork.

As for the engine, this kit is bodywork only, so both the electric motor and the battery remain as in the base version. This means it has a 77 kWh battery, which powers a motor producing 204 CV and a maximum torque of 310 Nm. Top speed is limited to 145 km/h, and it offers a range slightly above 400 kilometres on the WLTP cycle.

The price of this transformation is 11,900 euros, on top of the price of the electric van. If the buyer wants the wheels, the price adds another 4,999 euros, so the total cost of the transformation comes to 16,899 euros.
