The new BMW M2 CS: maximum driving fun in a limited edition
BMW presents the new BMW M2 CS, a limited edition of the M2 Competition tuned for those who seek driving thrills.
The CS model family of BMW is completed with the new BMW M2 CS, derived from the M2 Competition, and with a lot in common with the recently unveiled BMW M2 CS Racing. This model follows in the wake of the success enjoyed by the BMW M3 CS and BMW M4 CS among enthusiasts of cars designed to deliver the purest driving sensations.

Of course, everything has its price: in Germany, the M2 CS can be purchased from 95,000 euros.
Exterior design of the BMW M2 CS: here I am!
As with any BMW M, and especially one wearing the CS badge, the exterior design is anything but discreet, a clear display of power. The BMW M2 CS flaunts carbon fibre muscles, with a redesigned bonnet, the first carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) roof fitted to an M2, a new front splitter and a new rear diffuser, also made from the lightweight material.

The 19-inch forged wheels with a Y-spoke design can be finished in black or matt gold as an option. Notably, the front axle wheels weigh 9 kg (9Jx19″) and the rear ones 10 kg (10Jx19″). They are fitted with Michelin’s most sporting tyres, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, in sizes 245/35 ZR at the front and 265/35 ZR at the rear, with a specific homologation for this car.
What lies behind those beautiful wheels guarantees unmatched power and efficiency, as you would expect from a car like this. As standard, the M Sport brakes, with red-painted calipers, feature 400 mm front discs with six-piston calipers, and 380 mm rear discs with four-piston calipers. Optionally, BMW offers BMW M Carbon brakes, with ceramic discs.

To ensure the best dynamic qualities, a reinforcing brace between the front strut towers is included, also made from CFRP. And the active M differential, with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, allows a degree of slip in M Dynamic mode that makes drifting the M2 CS almost child’s play.

Inside, once again, CFRP makes its presence felt, providing lightness and a very racing look. The ultra-light seats come from the BMW M4 CS, and the upholstery uses Alcantara and leather. The M Sport steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara with the competition-style red marker is part of the optional equipment.
Twin-turbo engine with 450 hp and M adaptive suspension
Under the bonnet of the M2 CS sits an old acquaintance: the twin-turbo six-cylinder with 450 hp, equipped with a particulate filter. Power is up 29 hp over the M2 Competition.
Paired with a seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch gearbox, the M2 CS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. But BMW has also listened to the requests of CS model customers on this occasion, and the M2 will be the first BMW CS also available with a six-speed manual gearbox. In this case, the 0-100 km/h acceleration is 4.2 seconds, with top speed limited to 280 km/h in both cases.

In addition to other modifications aimed at meeting greater cooling and lubrication needs, the M2 Competition includes a new exhaust system with two electrically controlled flaps that give the driver the sound they want at any moment, using the driving modes of the Dynamics Control system.
