Berlingo Citroen Combo Opel Partner Peugeot Comerciales
The new commercial vehicles from Peugeot, Citroën and Opel will be manufactured in Vigo

Spain has long been one of the countries that manufactures the most vehicles, thanks to the strategic position that has been built up over the last few decades. The main brands have one or several plants in our country and from there they distribute some of the most popular models in the world. In Vigo there is an assembly plant for PSA Peugeot Citroën, which will soon see its production boosted by the incorporation of the new commercial models in the segment B of the alliance between PSA and General Motors.
These vehicles will replace the current Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Opel/Vauxhall Combo, which will see their production come to an end and be replaced by these new models, whose technical specifications we do not yet know. Even so, we suspect they will simply be updates of these models, adapted to the new times, both in terms of equipment and engines.
There is no rush for this launch, since it will take place around 2018, so these new models to be built in Spain are still on the drawing board, shaping their look and characteristics. Because, although these new models will share some of them, the technical and aesthetic differentiation of both companies will be maintained, avoiding a homogeneous image, despite the collaboration agreements signed the previous year.
This is the third of the agreements signed a few months ago, which, in addition to these commercial models, includes the manufacture of a segment B MPV, which is also assembled in our country, in this case at the GM plant in Zaragoza. The other product to emerge from the agreements between PSA and GM is a segment C crossover, which in this case will be produced at PSA’s French plant in Sochaux.
