The new Ford F-150 has been unveiled, bringing highly practical surprises that improve its everyday use
Ford has previewed some of the new features coming to the brand’s popular pick-up, with functions designed to improve its use and make work easier.

Although the official presentation will take place at the Detroit Motor Show, Ford has held an event to unveil the new Ford F-150, which features very interesting updates for users. It is not a complete redesign, but a mid-cycle update to the latest generation. Even so, new features that enhance the style and functionality of the vehicle have been incorporated.
The first thing you notice is a styling change to the front of the F-150. It has been redesigned to look more modern, contemporary and dynamic. The daytime running lights have been modified and new details have been created to enhance the different trim levels. In this way, each trim will have unique elements that become its signature.

The tailgate, the star of the new Ford F-150
One of the major new features of this version is the tailgate, which gives access to the rear bed. It has been designed so that it can be opened in different ways, allowing easy access even when a trailer is attached behind and gets in the way.

The tailgate can be opened in the traditional way, but it also has a centre door that swings open to one side. The bed also adds storage spaces for various tools. These spaces also vary depending on the trim level chosen.
To improve its usability, the Ford F-150 adds assistants for hitching trailers and towing them more safely. Some manoeuvres can be performed automatically, such as braking once the trailer hitch has been set up. The version arriving will have a towing capacity of 6,123 kg and a payload capacity of 1,113 kg.
Engines of the new Ford F-150
In the updated new version, the Ford F-150 will use a range of engines running from the 5.0-litre V8 to the 3.5-litre V6, not to mention the 2.7 EcoBoost engine, which has been tuned to deliver more power and torque than the current model.
As for the 3.5-litre PowerBoost Hybrid engine, Ford wants it to cost the same as the petrol engine alone. In this way, it will equip more versions with this engine and ensure there are more units with this hybrid engine on the market.
Interior of the Ford F-150
Inside, as the brand has announced, there will be a 12-inch screen in all versions of the model. It will also include a new system for locating the vehicle if it is stolen, a first for the model. It will also feature a Head-Up Display, which can be configured with the different driving modes.
A catalogue of ADAS systems will also be incorporated, enabling Level 2 autonomous driving. However, several of these systems will only be available free of charge during the first 90 days. After that, they can be enjoyed through a monthly subscription.
With this level of standardisation, Ford expects to reduce the complexity of ordering a unit, so deliveries will be made easier and faster.
