The new Gigafactory of Tesla unveiled in drone footage
The popular American manufacturer has just published a new video of a drone flying over its new Gigafactory in Berlin, the first on the European continent

Barely 10 days into operation, the new Gigafactory of Tesla in Berlin that we presented the other day has made the news again, showing us its mesmerising operation across more than 300 hectares dedicated to manufacturing the Tesla Model Y.
The rather unusual presentation of this Gigafactory, which will provide jobs for more than 12,000 workers, was made through a video published on its social media channels, in which a drone sweeps across the entire plant, giving us a virtual aerial tour of all its areas.
At the start of the short film, the drone flies over the vast yard of Tesla Model Y vehicles waiting to be collected and transported to dealerships or to their future owners, passing through their test track and then flying fully into the production halls after a series of incredible manoeuvres.

A high level of automation
Once inside the aforementioned hall, our first stop is the pressing area, where all the parts of the Model Y are shaped, from the bonnet and door panels to the tailgates and other components, which are transported along a kilometre-long conveyor belt and handled by huge robotic arms.
Once these parts are finished, we reach the section of the line where, once again, robotic machinery assembles the whole puzzle, allowing us to make out the model being built. It is then supervised by technicians and immersed in giant pools of primer to be prepared and painted in the vehicle’s final colour.
Its final phase
The next step, now closer to its final appearance, involves fitting the batteries and the rest of the propulsion systems, brakes, suspension, door panels and interiors, so that it is practically ready to be enjoyed by its future owners, pending a final inspection by a team of technicians who must check whether the product meets the quality standards set by the brand.
