The new Hyundai electric model aimed at Europe is getting closer: discover the Inster
Hyundai already has the electric version of the Casper ready, the urban SUV that will not only launch in Korea but will also be available in Europe in 2025

Some time ago, we learned that Hyundai had launched a new city car in Korea called Casper. To us, this name brings to mind a friendly cartoon ghost that was quite popular on television in the 1980s. The car’s styling is very similar to that fictional character, and it offered a small, functional and attractive vehicle. Now, the brand has launched an electric version of the model that uses a more sustainable electric drivetrain.
This model, from the A-segment, will be launched in both Korea and Europe and is designed for getting around the city. In principle, it is expected to debut at the Busan International Mobility Show, so we will be able to see it soon. Its name in Korea will remain Casper Electric, but for the European market the name Hyundai Inster has been chosen.

Apparently, the name comes from “Intimate” and “Innovative“, and it aims to position itself against well-known models such as the Dacia Spring or the recent Citroën ë-C3. And it will certainly have an adjusted price, designed to carve out a fairly significant place in the market for electric city cars.
This model keeps the styling and design of the Casper, but it will be built on a new platform. This will be somewhat longer, so it could be about 20 centimetres longer. This will allow for a larger wheelbase and, as a result, more interior space.

Range of the Hyundai Inster
The Hyundai Inster will be available in two versions, with two battery capacities. One will have a 40 kWh battery, while the higher-capacity version will offer 50 kWh. This would allow a range, not yet disclosed, of between 310 and 360 kilometres on the WLTP cycle, enough for the use this model was designed for.
As for the price of this model, it is expected to not exceed 20,000 euros, and that is before incentives, so it will cost considerably less than that amount. Obviously, this will be the starting price, since the various extras and configurations will push the base price up.
There are no images of the interior yet, so we will have to wait for the official presentation, where we also hope they will announce the arrival date in Europe, although this could happen before the end of 2024.
