On Thursday, 1 March, Jaguar will reveal the final production version of its new i-Pace electric crossover, at an event held ahead of the Geneva Motor Show

Those who want to follow the official presentation of the new Jaguar i-Pace live can do so through the main social networks (YouTube and Facebook) or by checking its website on the day and time indicated. Once the model’s presentation is over, Jaguar will also reveal the prices of its launch range and the final specifications of the various versions that will make it up, and it is at that very moment that the British manufacturer will begin accepting orders for the car.
“Ever since we showed the i-Pace Concept in 2016, we have been waiting for this moment. The fully electric I-Pace is not only a pioneer for our company, but it also promises to revolutionise the sector. I have never been so excited about a launch before. The world is looking at us with great expectation, and I cannot wait for the world to see everything we have achieved with this car,” said Ian Callum, Jaguar’s design director. The British manufacturer has carried out almost 2 million kilometres of testing and devoted more than 11,000 hours to developing the electric platform, across more than 200 prototypes produced and used in creating the I-Pace.

Equipped with all-wheel drive, the I-Pace attracted considerable attention even before its commercial launch was announced. According to Jaguar itself, thousands of customers have contacted the brand to express their interest in the model and reserve a unit.
It is the first vehicle the brand has designed from the outset for electric mobility, and it was developed independently of its two siblings, the F-Pace and E-Pace, with the clear aim of competing with models already present in its segment, the Tesla Model S and the Audi Q6 e-tron. The I-Pace is a model with a distinctly crossover-style body, practical and offering generous interior space, combining all of this with the performance of a sports car and a genuinely attractive exterior look.
The I-Pace is the last of the three models that make up the new Pace family of SUVs from Jaguar, following the launch of the F-Pace and E-Pace. This new model sits right between the two and is the first fully electric vehicle sold by the British manufacturer, now part of the Indian group Tata Motors. Among its qualities, the spacious 530-litre boot and its roomy, comfortable rear seats stand out. Of compact dimensions, it measures 4.68 m long, 1.56 m high and 1.89 m wide.

For now there is very little data. We know that it will have electric motors, independent for the front and rear axles, which together will provide around 400 CV of power and 700 Nm of instant torque available to the model, allowing it a high acceleration capacity from 0-100, which many already place at around 4 seconds. Equipped with all-wheel drive, the 90 kW batteries it incorporates will provide enough electrical energy to enjoy up to 500 km of range, according to NEDC figures. In just 90 minutes, the I-Pace can recharge up to 80 per cent of its battery capacity so you can continue your journey wherever there is a 50 kW DC charging point.

The advanced electric drive technology of the I-Pace has been developed and tested by Jaguar through the brand’s competition team, which has been taking part with relative success in the FIA Formula E World Championship.
If you want to follow the I-Pace presentation live next Thursday at 19:00 h you can do so through YouTube or Facebook, or via the web address enabled by the brand.
