The new Megane RS will have more than 300 CV and approximately this image
The new Megane RS will have around 300 CV, and the Trophy version could reach 350 CV.
Renault is working hard on developing the new Megane RS. Some of its rivals, such as the Honda Civic Type R or the Ford Focus RS, feature technically more advanced models, both surpassing the 300 CV barrier, something the Megane RS cannot yet claim. Even so, the French compact sports car is one of the benchmarks in its class, standing out for its firmness through corners and its excellent handling.

The new generation of the Megane RS will be offered in several versions, with the Trophy variant being the most powerful in the range. Everything points to the Megane RS using a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with around 300 CV. This engine would be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and, for the first time, the compact sports car could use a four-wheel-drive system. The Trophy version, meanwhile, could reach 350 CV, as well as introduce a considerable weight reduction.

We still don’t know the final appearance of the Megane RS, but thanks to the “renders” by digital artist Monholo Oumar, we can get an approximate idea of what it will look like.

The images show an approximation of the Trophy version. At the front, the aggressive bumper, the black detailing on the grille and the three lower lights positioned in a triangular arrangement on each side (a typical feature of the Trophy version) stand out. The Renault badge is finished in matt black and the wheels are black. The rear is not very different from that of the current Megane GT, so we expect the production version to introduce an extra dose of sportiness in this area.
