The new MG HS Hybrid+ opens sales in Spain and reveals its price

It was only a few days ago that MG announced that the range of its HS model would be expanded with a conventional hybrid version (HEV) called Hybrid+, following the path already set by other models from the brand such as the MG3 Hybrid+ and the ZS Hybrid+, a launch that would not be delayed, so that the brand could continue the meteoric success it has enjoyed in just five years in our country.

Said and done, MG has delivered, and announces the start of sales of the new HS Hybrid+ in Spain. As we already told you, it arrives with an HEV hybrid system under its bonnet, made up of a 1,500 cc turbo petrol engine with 143 CV and an electric motor of 146 kW (199 CV), resulting in a combined system output of 225 CV, and is paired with a new 2-speed automatic gearbox, which has improved both the comfort on the road and the performance and interior noise.

Also part of this hybrid system is an on-board generator and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.80 kWh, water-cooled and with a system voltage of 350 volts. This last detail is important because it also helps improve power delivery, energy regeneration and efficiency. This combination allows the MG HS Hybrid+ to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and, according to the WLTP test cycle, to certify an average consumption of 5.5 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 126 g/km.

The new MG HS Hybrid+ will be sold in Spain, like the rest of the range, in two trim levels. The entry-level trim is called Comfort and comes as standard with a comprehensive equipment list including:

MG will begin accepting orders for the new HS Hybrid+ from 1 October onwards, with a starting price for Spain of 29,990 euros in the Comfort trim and from 32,490 euros in the Luxury trim. Regardless of the trim chosen, a launch discount of up to 4,000 euros, comprehensive insurance and deferred instalments until 2026 are also included.
