e-208 Peugeot Electric Cars Compact
The new Peugeot e-208 will not mean the disappearance of hybrid versions and those with combustion engines
The arrival of the new Peugeot e208 does not mean that we will stop offering the current combustion engine versions, but updated.

Coming soon will be the Peugeot e-208, the electric variant of the model. This version will arrive in 2027, and one of the fears in the market was that this version would become the only option for driving this model. Fortunately, the Stellantis brand says this will not be the case. The brand’s own CEO, Alain Favey, has confirmed that versions with combustion engines will continue to exist.
This strategy comes alongside other brands that have also decided not to slow down the development of electric models while still keeping their combustion-engine models. In this way, buyers who have not yet decided to venture into electric mobility will have an option to enjoy the French model.

The demand for fully electric cars is not so high as to eliminate the rest of the powertrains, so all of them will coexist in the market until they have to be phased out due to European legislation. That said, the Peugeot e-208 aims to be the benchmark in its segment for the brand.
Peugeot is convinced that demand for electric cars will keep growing over the coming years, so this model is designed to meet the needs of the many drivers who will opt for it. Currently, the Peugeot 208 is sold with petrol engines, with mild hybridisation and an electric variant, which will be replaced by the new model.
The combustion-engine models could receive an update after the launch of the Peugeot e208 to align their styling with that of the new electric car. In this way, the aesthetic difference will not be too great, and a fairly similar look will be maintained, helping all the variants stay at the same aesthetic level.
