Renault 4 E Tech (1)

Presented last autumn, Renault as it had already warned, would not be long in putting on sale the long-awaited 4 E-Tech, its new fully electric model, for which priority will be given to all those customers who have purchased the R4 R Pass, and who will be able to configure and order it until March 11, thus being the first to receive it. From March 12 onwards, the rest of the customers will then be able to place their orders.

For the time being it will be available in different trim levels and engine options, and then, specifically at the end of the year, the versions with the electric fabric sunroof “plein sud” will begin to be available, a large sunroof that will even allow passengers in the rear seats to enjoy it without affecting headroom.

As for its engine options, the Renault 4 E-Tech will have two available, the first called “urban range“, with an electric motor producing 120 CV and paired with a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery with NMC chemistry, which allows it to achieve a range of 308 kilometres on the WLTP test cycle. The second engine option, called “comfort range“, increases power up to 150 CV and its battery becomes 52 kWh, achieving with this combination a range of 409 kilometres on the WLTP test cycle.

With the smaller 40 kWh battery, the Renault 4 E-Tech can charge from 15% to 80% in 2 hours 37 minutes with an 11 kW AC charger, while the 52 kWh battery does so in 3 hours 13 minutes using the same method; using a 100 kW DC charger, the time for the same percentage drops to 30 minutes. In addition, depending on the trim level, the V2L technology will be available, allowing a 220 V device to be connected to the car’s battery.
