The Opel Adam S arrives, the spicy version of the German city car

Adam S 1

Opel has announced another novelty ahead of the Paris Motor Show, which will take place in a couple of weeks and which we will be covering live during those days.

This is the final production version of the Adam S, the sportiest and most dynamic variant of the city car from the lightning-bolt brand.

It seems that Opel wants to compete in a part of the A-segment it has never explored before. We’re talking about sporty versions, something that, incidentally, Opel has been building brilliantly for many years.
The name of its latest sporty creation is the Adam S, and it promises to deliver thrills and performance in a small package.

Adam S 3

The exterior of the Adam S stands out for a front end that is a bit more aggressive than that of the standard versions. This time we can find some exclusive air intakes, which will serve to cool both the engine and the braking system.
The Adam S will leave the factory fitted with phenomenal sport-design alloy wheels measuring 17″, although 18″ large wheels can be chosen as an option, as is customary in today’s automotive landscape.

The rear draws attention thanks to a sport-finished exhaust outlet that is larger than usual. In addition, the roof can be painted in an intense red, along with other details such as the mirror caps and the rear spoiler, also of specific design.

Adam S 4

Inside, the most striking change is in the seats, which become, in the front seats, a pair of bucket seats signed by Recaro that invite you to enjoy driving this spicy little car. There will also be details such as contrast-painted trim, as well as an instrument cluster with sporty graphics.

On the technical side, we find a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine producing 150 CV and 220 Nm. Paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the Adam S will reach 100 km/h from standstill in 8.5 seconds, exceeding 200 km/h. In addition, both the suspension and the brakes have been modified for the occasion, which will improve the vehicle’s handling.
