Manthey Racing has a lot to say within Porsche, at least when it comes to competition, since it is the company whose mission is to win races and achieve the greatest possible success with the 911 RSR in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), and in addition Porsche has owned 51% of the shares of Manthey since 2013.

Manthey, founded in 1996 in a German town very close to the legendary Nürburgring circuit, was celebrating its 25th anniversary last year, and Porsche wanted to pay tribute to its racing company with something very special, announcing last summer the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25, an authentic beast that will delight both collectors and enthusiasts of track days, events where its future owners will be able to push it to the limit and the only place where they will be able to do so.

On the occasion of the announcement last August, Porsche noted that it would be built as a strictly limited edition of just 25 units and that deliveries to its owners would begin last January, at least according to the initial timeline set by the brand, which has not been met so far, as deliveries have not begun. Since then nothing had been known about the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25, until today, when spy photos have caught a unit in the town of Meuspath, where the Manthey Racing headquarters is located.

What we can see in these spy photos shows a unit with a design very faithful to what Porsche previewed last August, with a body painted in grey and yellow as a contrast on various exterior elements. We can also see the beautiful forged wheels with a single central lock nut, behind which the carbon-ceramic brakes are housed. The rear is not entirely finished, leaving the enormous radiators visible in side view, although without doubt what draws the most attention is the rear wing and its impressive “swan neck” type supports.

Remember that the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 uses a design as well as elements inherited from competition, specifically from Manthey’s 911 GT3 R, and also uses the same engine as the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, being a 3,800 cc twin-turbo flat-six that generates 700 CV transmitted to the rear axle through the PDK dual-clutch gearbox.
