Porsche Taycan Sedans Electric Cars
The Porsche Taycan has managed to outdo the all-powerful Bugatti Veyron on the Top Gear test track
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S has been put through its paces by Top Gear, where it managed to beat the very Bugatti Veyron on its lap.

The Porsche Taycan continues to show its power on circuits around the world in pursuit of the title of fastest electric saloon. Nevertheless, and despite that small incident in California, the German electric car has made an appearance on Top Gear, where it was put through the show’s tricky track to test its capabilities and see what it is capable of. And it is after both Chris Harris and the Stig -the mysterious driver of the English programme- put it to the test that we found that it has beaten the all-powerful Bugatti Veyron.
Everyone knows the instant power that electric vehicles deliver, which becomes even more pronounced when the figures they claim are those of a supercar. And this is exactly the situation with the Porsche Taycan in its Turbo S variant, a controversial badge that has allowed it to overcome the Bugatti Veyron, the model that once held the title of the fastest production vehicle in the world.
Chris Harris, regarded by many four-wheel fanatics as a true petrolhead, could not hide his amazement at the charms of the German saloon. And the brands have already brought out the heavy artillery to convince those who deny that electric cars can be sports cars and who see them as an outrage to the motoring world. The Porsche Taycan disagrees.

One minute and seventeen seconds were needed to complete the 2.82 kilometres that make up the Top Gear circuit. And we must not forget that vehicles of the calibre of the Ferrari FXX, the Pagani Zonda R or the Bugatti Veyron have passed over the English track, a model that has been dethroned after the dazzling run of the Porsche Taycan on the programme.
We must not forget that the Porsche Taycan Turbo S produces 761 CV and 1,050 Nm of torque, figures that allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 260 km/h. It is true that the Bugatti Veyron, with its monstrous W16 engine, can produce 1,001 CV and 1,250 Nm of torque, but this was not enough to keep its position intact.

This is how we are beginning to witness the dominance of electric cars, a sector that is gradually making its mark on the market and in all the segments that make up the automotive industry. The Porsche Taycan is only the first of many electric sports cars that will come from Porsche, a brand that promises to keep the driving sensations intact regardless of the energy source its creations rely on.
