The Porsche Taycan is closer than ever, and this intense video shows it to us

A few years ago, when we thought about electric vehicles, we were sure to associate them with small cars, with a futuristic look and designed for urban life, but car manufacturers keep showing us we were wrong. Today, the electric car is practically a reality in almost every segment, even in sports cars, where hybrid powertrains have already shown what they are capable of. Porsche promised us with the Mission E that we would see a 100% electric model in its line-up, and the result of that promise is the Taycan, a vehicle that is about to arrive.

The German brand has wanted to show the world its clear intention to bring to market a vehicle that combines the comfort of a saloon, the efficiency of an electric vehicle and the sportiness characteristic of a Porsche. From this idea the Taycan was born, the name under which the production version of the Mission E will be known, the concept car that has been used as the basis.

A few days ago, Porsche told us the name that will represent its first 100% electric vehicle, but today it has wanted to show us how close it is to becoming a reality with this video. In it, we can see many sports cars from the German house being referenced, but in the end it focuses on one, the Taycan.

The aim of the video is not only to stir our curiosity about the new Porsche model, but also to convey to us that electric cars also have soul. The Porsche Taycan uses a mechanical layout never before seen in a model from the brand, but the engineers have kept the essence of a Porsche fully intact, regardless of the heart it carries inside.

But the Taycan will have quite a heart, because even though it is electric, that does not mean its performance is not typical of a model from the German brand. We will find a powertrain capable of delivering 600 CV of power, drawn directly from its 440 kW battery. This figure will allow the new Porsche saloon to reach 100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds and exceed 200 km/h without great difficulty. At the same time, Porsche has also considered the life of the Taycan, and that is why it will offer 500 kilometres of range, ideal for getting through all our daily tasks.

For now we do not know an exact presentation date, but Porsche assures us with this video that it will be very soon when the Taycan not only makes its debut, but also revolutionises the world of motoring. With this new bet, Porsche fully enters the world of electric cars, where it hopes to achieve great success and keep expanding in that segment with new models.
