We are already moving toward the year 2023, and brands are preparing for the new year. As a result, announcements about software updates for several important models are starting to appear. One of the models that will receive this kind of update is the Porsche Taycan, which adds improvements to the software of its infotainment system.

The German brand’s electric model is getting an update to the Porsche Communication Management. It will now feature an interface made up of a screen with a colorful tile layout. In addition to this visual change, the update also brings integration with Spotify and wireless support for Android Auto.

Other new features include, for example, filtering of charging stations shown in the navigation system by charging power. This will allow the driver to choose the fastest charging point along the route they are taking.

Engine improvements

The update does not change the power or characteristics of the motors. However, it makes them work more efficiently. When the electric car enters Normal or Range driving mode, the front motors are deactivated in dual-motor versions.

Thermal management has also been improved. The battery can be preconditioned faster and reaches its operating temperature more quickly. The recuperation setting is retained when changing driving mode. When operating in all-wheel-drive mode, it displays the energy flow.

As for the hardware, there is a modification that allows adjusting the roof’s brightness. In addition, its transparency can be changed with a few touches of the controller. There are also minor changes to the wheel options. One more option concerns the installation of dashcams, one at the front and another at the rear.

The Porsche Tequipment trim is equipped with vibration, radar and GPS sensors. It also features a lens with a polarizing filter. These updates will be available for 2023 models, but they are expected to reach models sold in earlier years a little later on.
