The Renault Scala arrives in India, and there are reports it could be the second generation of the Dacia Logan
Renault has presented the Renault Scala in India, which some rumours have already placed in the position of the Dacia Logan in Europe.

Renault has presented the new Renault Scala in India, a model designed locally that will go on sale at the brand’s dealerships on 5 September. And although we cannot reliably draw conclusions from the spy photos of the Logan that have been seen, could the Scala be the next European Logan?
At least in the case of the Renault Scala, it will be powered by a 1.5 petrol and a 1.5 turbo diesel, and another 1.6-litre engine would be available for models sold in other Asian markets.

Allowing for differences in trim and details that are specific to each market, if the Logan for Europe turned out to be similar to this Scala, it would at least offer a more up-to-date range of new engines, in line with the known plans of Renault.
However, we could theorise at length about whether the Logan will resemble this Indian model. First of all, we can tell you that Laurens van den Acker is working on the new Logan and that his brief was to make it less conservative than the previous generation, which does not seem very much in line with this Scala. Furthermore, the size of the new Logan will be more generous, based on the Fluence’s chassis, and will surely take something from the Lodgy.
For now, we are not in a position to say that this Scala is the new Logan, but you can draw your own conclusions from the photos in front of you.
