The renewed Mercedes-Benz S-Class will arrive in 2027 and we already have the first details
The new Mercedes S-Class will arrive in 2027 and will feature a more striking and executive look, with new engines and a redesigned interior and exterior.

The renewed Mercedes-Benz S-Class is set to offer a much more luxurious and striking appearance, so that its occupants can enjoy even more luxury and comfort. The changes start on the outside, where modifications to its looks are already causing some surprise. The first thing that catches the eye is the grille, which is considerably larger.
Furthermore, this grille is illuminated for the first time and features three-dimensional chrome stars. In addition, the star on the bonnet can be illuminated, another novelty that creates a recognisable and striking light signature. The star is also present on the front headlights and rear light clusters, as the lights take this shape.

Personalisation is an important focus, and buyers will find new exclusive wheels for this model and an updated colour palette for the new S-Class. The Manufaktur Made to Measure programme has even been enabled, offering 150 body paint colours and up to 400 interior configurations.
On the exterior we also find the optional AMG Line package, which adds bumpers and side skirts with a sportier style. In this case, the wheels grow up to 21 inches. There is also a flat-bottomed steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, sound profiles exclusive to the model and red decorative details on the screens.

Screens in the cabin
There is a trend towards eliminating screens from the cabin. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class does not follow that trend. The wood trim has been removed and three screens have been installed. The instrument display measures 12.3 inches, while the multimedia screen measures 14.4 inches. A third screen, dedicated to the front passenger, measures 12.3 inches.
Screens are also present in the rear seats, where there are two, measuring 13.1 inches, to keep rear passengers entertained or informed. They also feature cameras and a remote control, so they can be used for video conferencing if a work meeting needs to take place.
The MBUX system is powered by AI based on ChatGPT4 and Microsoft Bing Search, so it can offer more proactive solutions to users’ needs.
The centre console has been redesigned and a wireless charger for smartphones has been fitted, along with an illuminated cup holder to keep a drink at hand at any time. The multifunction steering wheel keeps all the controls within easy reach thanks to physical buttons.
The air vents have digital control and can be adjusted to the driver’s preferences or using one of the eight preset positions in the driver assistance system. The front seatbelts are heated, in keeping with the seats, which also have heating.

Engines for the S-Class
Several engines will be available for this renewed model arriving in 2027, from diesel and petrol options. Two plug-in hybrid versions are also planned. One of them features a 3.0-litre engine and an electric motor powered by energy stored in a 22 kWh battery. With this set-up, the saloon will be able to travel up to 118 kilometres in electric mode.
The second plug-in hybrid model offers more power but reduces electric range to 103 kilometres. The engines are powerful and allow occupants to enjoy both the driving and the journey from the rear seats.
