The restyled Suzuki Vitara already has prices set for the Spanish market

It has been a couple of months since Suzuki presented the update it has given to one of the most iconic models in its lineup, the Vitara, an SUV that today is far removed from the concept it was originally conceived with, but whose reputation has allowed it to reach our days more alive than ever. It is currently in its fourth generation, which was presented a few years ago, specifically in 2015.

Suzuki’s formula with the Vitara works, but nearly 10 years on the market for the current generation also takes its toll, which is why it is essential to keep it as up to date as possible until a new generation arrives. Aesthetically, as we already mentioned, the changes are not extensive but are visible, especially at the front, as tends to happen in these cases where a restyle takes place.

The front now features a bumper with less abrupt lines and much smoother contours, giving it a perhaps more refined touch, which also serves to modify the design of the front grille, where black takes centre stage and which is headed by Full LED headlights with a new light signature. At the rear, the most significant change is the larger spoiler, which now extends towards the C-pillar. Its bodywork can be painted in ten colours, two of which are new: the two-tone Pearl Sphere Blue with a Metallic Black roof and Metallic Titan Grey.

The most significant changes are concentrated on the interior, with a greater technological equipment as well as new safety and driver assistance systems, although this will depend on the trim level we choose, as Suzuki offers it in three levels, the first called S1, which includes the following elements as standard:

As you can see, from its first trim level the Suzuki Vitara is already very well equipped, so the other trim levels don’t add much more. Even so, the second S2 trim level adds to the above:

The top trim level is called S3 and, in addition to everything above, it adds the following elements:

• 17-inch alloy wheels with polished finish
• Electrically foldable and adjustable, heated external mirrors with integrated indicators
• Full body-side moulding with chrome inserts
• Audio system with front tweeters
• Door panels with suede inserts
• Front door armrests with synthetic leather inserts
• Mixed upholstery made of special fabric and leather inserts
• Front parking sensors

As for its mechanics, the Suzuki Vitara will be available from launch with the mild-hybrid 48 V system, which supports the 1,400 cc Boosterjet petrol engine producing 129 CV and adds 10 kW of extra power. This engine works with a six-speed manual gearbox that sends power to the front axle, although for the S2 and S3 trims we can optionally choose AllGrip all-wheel drive.

Later on, only for the S2 and S3 trims, the powertrain that Suzuki calls Strong Hybrid will be available. This is a traditional hybrid system consisting of a 1,500 cc Dualjet engine producing 102 CV together with a 25 kW electric motor, resulting in a combined output of 115 CV, not forgetting the lithium-ion battery and 140 V, which allows it to run in fully electric mode at certain times. This powertrain is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and can also optionally be fitted with AllGrip all-wheel drive.

Therefore, with the mild-hybrid powertrain, which is the one now available, the 2024 Suzuki Vitara will start from 24,500 euros for the S1 trim, from 25,300 euros for the S2 trim (if chosen with AllGrip traction, it starts from 27,560 euros), and from 28,100 euros for the S3 trim (with AllGrip traction it starts from 30,500 euros).
