Just under a year ago we learned that the SEAT León Cupra would have 290 CV, but before this 2016 ends, we are already being told that a version will arrive that will surpass this figure and offer us a bit more power. It will be 296 CV, nearly 300 CV, that will power this new addition to the range, which will soon be available to enjoy behind the wheel. This enhanced version will arrive, most likely, starting in May 2017.

But it is not the only novelty the range will have, since the ST version will, starting next year, come with four-wheel drive. To achieve this change, the SEAT León ST will use the same drivetrain as the Volkswagen Golf ST, so we know its characteristics and specifications. We know that with it, the Golf ST reaches 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, so we expect this to be similar in the Spanish car.

Seat Leon ST 4Drive

Nothing has been said about the model’s hatchback, so we do not believe this variant can enjoy this four-wheel drive. The four-wheel drive system has only been developed for the Seat León X-Perience, so these two models, along with the Cupra, will be the ones to enjoy it.

No other elements will be added in this León facelift, although a new front bumper and an updated grille are expected. LED lights will also be added. Inside, an eight-inch touchscreen will be added, improving access to the information and entertainment functions. No radical change is expected in the model’s chassis, although it will be adjusted slightly to take advantage of the boost offered by four-wheel drive.
